Caught In Time HIGHLY recommends this children's version by author John Steptoe:
It is beautifully illustrated and beautifully told -- expressing the importance of following your dream in spite of fear and condemnation. But, it also expresses the importance of making personal sacrifices in order to help others -- even if it make following your dream more difficult. Basically about having hope, faith and compassion. To read alone, this book would be good for
middle-schoolers. However, it's never too early to read important
stories to your children! Written for children but great for
any age! |
HIGHLY Recommended by Caughtintime! Indian Mounds of Wisconsin This is a very thorough book about the Effigy Mounds of [southern] Wisconsin. It covers what is known about the society of people who made them and the possibilities about why they were made. It also lists where to go to see many of these fascinating mounds.

HIGHLY Recommended by Caughtintime! The Good Path It was written for children to help them grow in the faith of the Ojibwe. Very beautiful and helps non-Native Americans better understand the spiritual side of the Ojibwe people.

This book talks about reports of aliens, kangaroos, lake monsters, big-foots, etc... in Wisconsin. It is a quirky and fun book -- not very scary. To read alone, this book is good for middle-schoolers through adults.

Caught In Time recommends this very informative book by Christopher Deubler:
This is a small, but very informative book that has information about the eco system of the ponds (pointing out what baits to use and how to emulate some of the food sources of the fish in the ponds), the correct tackle to bring and also a listing of his favorite ponds to fish in Wisconsin To read alone, this book is good for high-schoolers through adults.

Caught In Time recommends this very fun book by Dr. Seuss:
This book is an Excellent way to teach young children about the importance of taking care of the environment. It's the story of the "Onceler" who sets up his factory in the forest of the Lorax. Little by little the Onceler uses up all of the resources and the animals have to leave. All along, the Lorax keeps tying to fight it. Very colorful and clever, it's great for adults too! To read alone, this book is good for very
young children (3-8 years old) but just about any nature lover
at any age would enjoy |
